What’s Next for the Feminist Movement?

January 26, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm EST

women of color protesting inNY

Join National Women's Liberation ‘s New York City Chapter (NWL-NY) for our first general meeting of 2021.

We'll discuss how to hold the incoming administration accountable and continue our fight for women's liberation and we'll hear presentations from our allied grass roots organizations: @DSA-NYC Tax the Rich Campaign, Campaign for New York Health, NYC for Abortion Rights, and the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement.

We'll also hold a Consciousness-Raising (CR) to discuss the following questions:

  • What has been the effect of the election campaign on your life?

  • What effect has the election and its aftermath had on your life (Hopes and fears?)

  • What are you, or your group, doing?

  • What do you think the feminist movement should be doing?

Please RSVP through Eventbrite. The meeting will be hosted through Zoom, and participants will receive a link to join prior to the event.
Participation is free. If you're able, please consider donating to support our work. NWL believes that women should lead the fight for our liberation, so our meetings are for self-identified women only.

More on CR: CR is a tool based on 1960's Civil Rights Movement organizing, where it was called “telling it like it is.” Kathie Sarachild presented a proposal for CR as a tool in women's liberation organizing at the first National Women's Liberation Conference in 1968. Learn more about NWL's use of CR on our website.
