You Can Change This Election: Learn How to Register Voters
January 30, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EST
National Women’s Liberation is hosting a voter registration training at our office, led by the Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC). We particularly want to reach people with felony convictions who are newly eligible to vote via Amendment 4, as well as registered voters who are inactive.
Here in Alachua County, FLIC is aiming to reach and engage with 20,000 voters this year.
- There are tens-of-thousands who are newly-eligible under Amendment 4.
- Of the already registered voters, roughly 40% don’t vote in general elections.
- Over 45,000 voters in Alachua County are registered as No Party Affiliation (NPA).
- Over 18,000 people were removed from the voting rolls in Alachua County for “inactivity,” which is caused primarily by housing instability.
We have work to do! Join us for the training and to plan next steps!
