DESCRIPTION:Join the Women of Color Caucus for a Consciousness-Raising meeting on Sunday\, Feb. 9 at 3:00 pm to compare and analyze our experiences with beauty standards. We will be meeting in Dauer 215 on University of Florida’s campus. (If you are outside of Gainesville\, you can participate by conference call.) \n\nWe will be answering the following questions: \n\nWhen have you changed/altered your appearance (e.g.\, straightened your hair\, lightened/darkened your skin\, shaved\, worn make-up\, etc.)? Why? What happened? What was the cost to you (money\, time\, etc.)? What was the benefit?\nWhen have you not changed your appearance (e.g.\, not straightened your hair\, not lightened/darkened your skin\, not shaved\, not worn make-up\, etc.)? Why? What happened?
