DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, April 19\, 2016\, National Women’s Liberation (NWL)\, Gainesville chapter will hold a Speak-Out for Reproductive Rights on the Plaza of the Americas at UF at 12:00pm. \nThis year\, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed HB 1411\, an anti-abortion law defunding women’s clinics that provide abortions. The right to birth control\, including abortion\, is a cornerstone of women’s freedom. Women’s right to abortion is being chipped away at through each law passed\, and we are fed up with it! \nJoin our social media campaigns #NotMyClinic and #ThisOppressesWomen \nTake Action Now: \n1. Visit a federal qualified health center near you\n2. Film yourself asking for a reproductive health service\n3. Upload the video to the Not My Clinic Facebook group and tag it using the hashtags #notmyclinic and #thisoppresseswomen \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday April 19th for our monthly meeting. We will continue to build on our previous meetings where we held consciousness-raising sessions about our experiences with birth control and abortion and the choice to have or not have children as well as discussions surrounding the social wage theory by brainstorming new ideas for future actions. \nAs always we encourage all women to participate during this meeting\, we want to hear your ideas! \nDetails: Tuesday April 19\, 2016 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm @ The Commons in Brooklyn\, 388 Atlantic Avenue between Hoyt and Bond\, near the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street A/C/G.
