Join National Women’s Liberation – Gainesville for our monthly general meeting on Thursday\, August 11th\, 6:30p to 8p at Curia on the Drag\, 2029 NW 6th Street in Gainesville. (You can look for us at the tables in the back to the right of the Auk Market and Dad’s Bar.)\nMeeting is rain or shine! If needed\, we’ll move to a covered area. Look for the NWL signs! \nMeeting topics include discussing recent wins for the feminist movement\, plus organizing for the abortion pill. As in our last meeting\, we will have activist break out groups to give you a chance to get involved and take action.\nWe hope you will also stay after the meeting to hang out and enjoy coffee\, beer\, wine and baked goods for sale from Curia on the Drag and Dad’s bar. \n__\nAbout NWL\nNational Women’s Liberation (NWL) is a multiracial feminist group for women who want to fight male supremacy and gain more freedom for women. Our priorities are abortion and birth control\, overthrowing the double day\, and feminist consciousness-raising. \nNWL meetings are for women and trans* people who do not benefit from male supremacy because we believe we should lead the fight for our liberation. In addition\, women of color meet separately from white women in Women of Color Caucus (WOCC) meetings to examine their experiences with white supremacy and how it intersects with male supremacy to oppress women of color. \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Join us for National Women’s Liberation’s Abortion Without Apology Fundraiser!\nDoors at 5:30pm / Bands start at 6:30pm\nAll Ages Show!\n$10-20 sliding scale\nBands: Whiskey & Co. / Ill Star / Antagonizör\n\nEvery year since 2014\, with the exception of 2021 during COVID\, we have held a fundraiser show for our organization in January to celebrate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. We are excited to have our in-person fundraiser again—but enraged that we will not be able to mark the feminist victory that Roe v. Wade represented for 49 years. This year\, our theme is Abortion Without Apology and we are raising money to fund the feminist fight and take back our rights.\nJoin us for an evening of live music\, surprise swag bag prizes\, and fundraising to strengthen our fight!\nSponsorship opportunities are also available. Your sponsorship will include tickets to the event as well as opportunities to promote your business to feminists and allies in our community.
