SUMMARY:NYC Health Care Consciousness-Raising Meetings
DESCRIPTION:The Abortion and Birth Control Committee is doing a series of Neighborhood Consciousness Raisings. \nWomen will be gathering to answer questions from our personal experience\, and then as a group we will compare the similarities and differences in the testimony in order to study our oppression. Movements have been using consciousness-raising as a tool for examining the political root of our so-called personal problems. We look at who is oppressing us\, who benefits\, and who pays\, and how to fight back. We will use the testimony and conclusions from these CRs to plan our work. \nWe’ll answer these questions – What are/were your reasons for wanting children or not wanting them? (whether we had them\, didn’t\, or are still planning to).
