SUMMARY:Virtual Consciousness-Raising on Education
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, September 23\, 6:30 to 8:30 PM EDT\nRSVP required (meeting over Zoom)\n\nJoin us for a virtual Consciousness-Raising (CR) on public education. As K-12 schools are reopening across our state and nation\, it is increasingly apparent that our public education system is not meeting the needs of children\, educators\, parents or their communities. We want to compare and contrast how we are each individually impacted by (K-12) public education\, and what changes would improve our lives. This CR is meant for parents\, caretakers and women without children.\n\nIn CR\, women answer questions from their own experience\, and then the group uses these testimonies to find the political roots of our so-called “personal” problems.\n\n\nCR questions:\n\nWhether or not you have kids\, how do the schools (public\, private\, university\, etc) opening up impact you?\nWhether or not you have kids\, how did the school closure impact you?\n\n\nEach person who testifies will have approx 4 minutes. Afterwards we’ll discuss the testimony and draw conclusions.

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, Sept 29th\, 7:30-9:30pm\nRSVP required (meeting over Zoom)\n\nJoin National Women’s Liberation (NWL) for our upcoming virtual consciousness-raising (CR) on opposing racism. This CR is to draw political conclusions about how racism works and how to defeat it as a multiracial feminist fighting force. Please note\, this is not an anti-racist training. It is not about individual self improvement or improving our image. The primary goal of this CR is to help focus our efforts as we continue the fight to overthrow racism.\n\nIn CR women answer questions from their own experience\, and then the group uses these testimonies to find the political roots of women’s so-called “personal” problems.\n\nWe will answer these questions:\n\n\nHave you ever seen something racist or experienced racism and opposed it? What motivated you?\nHave you ever seen something racist or experienced racism and not opposed it? Give examples.\nHow has racism influenced your choices/decisions?
